Jags Edged in Extra Innings

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) A 14th inning sacrifice fly proved to be the difference the Arkansas State Red Wolves needed to edge South Alabama at Stanky Field Saturday.

The Jags did well early scoring 4 runs in the 3rd inning including a bases loaded sacrifice fly by Matt Wojciechowski. The RBI scored Cole Gleason who added an earlier RBI in the inning.

It was a 2-run 8th inning for the Red Wolves that sent the game into extra innings.

Eric Wilcoxson scored on the 14th inning sacrifice by 1st baseman Matt Burgess. Arkansas State won the game 7-6.

Tanner Gaines stayed undefeated (3-0) with the win. Brandon Hallford suffers his first loss of the season (3-1).

The Jaguars return to Stanky Field Sunday at 1pm in a decisive 3rd game of the series.
