Girl Scouts Help Paint Food Bank Mural

THEODORE, Ala. (WPM) Bay Area Food Banks Community Garden has become a work of art, thanks to a local Girl Scouts troop.

The 40 by 8 foot mural on the side of a storage container now proudly boasts one of the food banks new mantras, Grow Food, Fight Hunger.

Bay Area Food Banks Executive Director Dave Reaney says he is proud of the new mural and the focus it embodies.

It represents a place were trying to go with people in need, said Reaney, not only making sure they dont go hungry, but helping them gain access to fresh, nutritious produce.

The mural was brought into reality in November when local advertising agency Red Square helped create a grid system and basic outline of the design so future volunteers could help finish the project using a paint-by-number like system. Girl Scout Troop 8055 volunteered at the food banks main branch in Theodore on Saturday to finish mural.
