Half of 'Bonnie & Clyde' Robbery Duo in Court
UPDATE 11/14/13: Half of the 'Bonnie & Clyde' couple accused of robbing two banks in Alabama and 13 in Florida appeared before a federal judge in Florida Thursday morning.
Cara Lee Williams waived her right to bond, but her attorney could still file a motion for bond at a later date.
She and her husband, Immanuel Williams, were arrested in their Tampa home last week.
Investigators say Cara was seen on surveillance video during a robbery in Dothan. They say Immanuel was the person who robbed a Gulf Shores bank.
GULF SHORES, Ala. (WPMI) Local 15 News has obtained new video of a duo arrested in Florida accused of robbing 15 banks from Tampa Bay to Gulf Shores.
FBI Agents tracked down 28-year-old Immanuel Williams and his wife Cara using cell phone tower pings of their wireless calls and by the clear surveillance pictures that matched in multiple bank locations.
Immanuel Williams is a former postal employee. Cara Williams is a former Chase Bank employee and agents say she took a day off from her bank job to do a bank job in Tampa last December.
"Much larger than just your regular bank robbery where you have one suspect and one bank robbery," said Cristal Bermudex Nunex, HCSO spokesperson. "They're all contained within our jurisdiction. That wasn't the case with these two suspects."
If convicted, both suspects could spend 20 years behind bars for the federal robbery charges.
