Wooded Meth Lab Bust in Baldwin Co.
BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) Officials in Baldwin County arrested a man they caught cooking meth in the woods.
Douglas Cooley, 46, was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance first, attempted assault second on a law enforcement officer and attempting to elude. He is being held on a $1 million bond.
Officers with the Alabama Conservation Enforcement and Alabama Marine Police have been surveying an area off County Road 112, after reports of manufacturing meth came in.
On September 21, officers confronted Cooley and another suspect in the woods. That's when they say Cooley threw the meth at officers and took off running.
Cooley was caught and arrested. The other suspect was transported to a Florida hospital due to a pre-existing health condition. Warrants will be obtained for the suspect that went to the hospital.
