Instagram Updates Video Portion of App
Instagram jumped on the video band wagon about a month ago. This week, the company announced some upgrades for users. Local 15's Taren Reed has details on what's different.
Instagram has come a long way since it's first debut. The applets users take photos, edit them, then upload to social media. With the addition of video, Instagram is hoping to reach a whole new level.
App developers have added the ability for users to upload videos from media libraries on their phones. You can also shoot a video within the app.
Once you've captured that moment, Instagram now has an editing option. Users can trip the videos and crop the frame to best fit Instagram's square shape.
In addition to the video changes, Social Times reports that the Instagram team has developed technology for automatically straightening crooked photos. There will be a 'straighten' icon within the app. There's also a slider to rotate and adjust the photo.
The company said: "Since the launch of Video on Instagram this has been the Android community's number-one request, and we're excited to see this community grow."
Instagram is available on Android and Apple devices. It's free.
