Local 15 Hires New Morning Anchor
Kelly Jones, a 13-year news veteran, is joining the Local 15 Today morning team effective Sept. 9.
Kelly comes to Local 15 from KCTV in Kansas City where she served as anchor, reporter, and host.
Kelly brings a lot of energy and experience to the position, and she has a solid reputation for reaching out and being involved in the community. She will hit the ground running and become a big part of our commitment to covering local news that is important to our community, said Local 15 General Manager Bobby Totsch.
Leading up to her position in Kansas City, Kelly had also been a reporter and anchor in California, Michigan, Montana and Arizona.
I am excited to have such a well-rounded journalist joining our news team, said Local 15 News Director Bob Noonan. Kelly brings a great personality plus strong story telling skills.
Kelly brings worldly experience to her position as well. She has worked at the American Embassies in Tirana, Albania and Brussels, Belgium. She served as a Family Readiness Officer for military personnel and their families at the U.S. Marine Corp Air Station in Miramar California. Kelly is also established with several charitable organizations such as SAFEHOME, American Heart Association, March of Dimes, and she embraces groups that support and help children battle Autism.
Kelly is a graduate of Wayne State University in Michigan.
