Orchard Park, NY (Sports Network) - Buffalo Bills defensive end Chris Kelsay announced his retirement after playing 10 years with the team.

Kelsay informed general manager Buddy Nix of his decision Wednesday.

Kelsay's 2012 season was cut short due to a torn ligament in his neck. He registered 14 tackles and two sacks while starting four of the nine games he played last season.

A second-round selection in the 2003 draft out of Nebraska, Kelsay appeared in 147 games for the Bills and had 32 1/2 sacks.
