Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Suns have exercised the third year contract option on forward Markieff Morris, keeping him with the club through the 2013-14 season.
The Suns selected Morris with the 13th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. In his first season, he appeared in 63 games and averaged 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds.
Morris is averaging a team-leading 11.7 points and 6.3 rebounds over six preseason contests in 2012.
