Greenville, SC (Sports Network) - Furman football will face a Big Ten Conference opponent for the first time when they visit Michigan State in 2016.
Furman athletic director Dr. Gary Clark announced on Tuesday the Sept. 17 game at Spartan Stadium.
The Paladins, from the Southern Conference, already have three other scheduled games against FBS opponents: LSU (2013), South Carolina (2014) and Virginia Tech (2015).
"We're pleased to add Michigan State to our 2016 football schedule and look forward to the challenge," Clark said.
