Recap: NC State vs. Boston College

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Scott Wood made five three-pointers en route to 22 points, as the North Carolina State Wolfpack held off the Boston College Eagles, 78-57, in the first round of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.

C.J. Leslie added 11 points and 11 rebounds for the fifth-seeded Wolfpack (21-11), who got 12 points and eight assists from Lorenzo Brown.

NC State, which is on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament, will face fourth-seeded Virginia in Friday's quarterfinal round.

Ryan Anderson ended with 22 points and 12 boards for the 12th-seeded Eagles (9-22), who also lost both regular-season games against the Wolfpack. Lonnie Jackson had 10 points.

The Wolfpack came out of the gates on fire, starting the game on a 14-0 run. Brown's jumper with 4:40 left in the first half made it a 32-16 game.

But the Eagles scored the next eight points to get back in the game. NC State, though, tallied the final five points of the stanza to take a 37-24 lead into the break.

Boston College got as close as six early in the second half. But that was as close as they would get, as the Wolfpack ended the game on a 9-0 run to inflate the final margin.
