Recap: CS-Northridge vs. Fresno State

Northridge, CA (Sports Network) - Kevin Foster scored 17 points to pace Fresno State to a 62-49 victory over Cal State-Northridge in a BracketBuster pairing at Matador Gymnasium.

Tyler Johnson totaled 11 points and Kevin Olekaibe 10 for the Bulldogs (12-16), who dominated the second half and bounced back from consecutive defeats. Fresno State shot 50 percent in the second half, when the visitors held a 39-17 scoring advantage.

Josh Greene had 20 points for the Matadors (7-18), who failed to build on a 13-point win over Cal Poly on Wednesday. Stephan Hicks contributed 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Stephen Maxwell yanked down 11 boards in defeat.

The Matadors scored the final seven points of the opening half for a 32-23 lead.

After the Bulldogs rallied, it was a see-saw battle for a good portion of the second half until Johnson's jumper put Fresno State ahead to stay at 48-46 with 5:24 remaining.

Hicks made 1-of-2 from the foul line, but then the Bulldogs salted away the win by scoring eight in a row, started by a three from Foster and finished with a layup from Johnson with 2:49 to go.
