Friday Night Football is gearing up Friday and in light of the latest incidents at schools in Mobile County, measures at stadiums are in question.

Last week thousands of people took cover from what they thought were gunshots during the Blount vs Vigor game. Officials later determined it was not gunshots but fireworks that caused the commotion.

Thursday Davidson and Mary G. Montgomery will battle it out on the field and to them, it's just another day on the field. Local 15's Jasmine Williams will be at the game and reported seeing Mobile Police patrolling at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

At a meeting Thursday afternoon, Local 15 caught up with Superintendent Martha Peek about the latest security scare. She said Mobile Police will be monitoring the crowds as usual.

Peek went on to say that money is not an issue and that she believes security at stadiums are covered. The recent incidents are isolated ones.

"We always have a large presence of security of police officers at our ball games. We'll continue that," Peek said.

According to Peek, it is up to the principals to decide how much security is needed at each game.Safety Measures at Football Games
