MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Former University of South Alabama men's basketball player Mychal Ammons has signed a professional contract with Macedonian club Feni Indistrija.

Feni Indistrija plays in the Macedonian First League, top level of basketball in the country, and has won three league titles and three regular-season championships since 2007-08.

"We're excited for Mychal and pleased that he's going to realize his dream to play professional basketball," head coach Matthew Graves said. "This was always a goal of his, and for it to finally come true means a great deal to him."

Last season Ammons averaged 9.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest for the Jaguars. His rebounding average was second on the team and fourth in the Sun Belt Conference, and his 1.1 blocks per contest was sixth-best in the league.

The Vicksburg, Miss. native averaged 10.0 points and 6.6 boards in three seasons as a Jaguar with nine double-doubles. He grabbed 593 rebounds, eighth-most in school history, and ranks 11th in blocks (80) and 20th in points (901).
