MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Jag fans listen up. South Alabama football has a new radio home this season.

The new contract with Clear Channel means reaching more listeners than ever before.

Now anyone within an 85 mile radius of Mobile will get the chance to listen to Jaguar games.

If you have a smart phone, you'll have access to the broadcasts from anywhere in the world with the iHeart Radio app.

"How could we not go after this? It is such a great partner in the community and we're happy to partner with them," said Steve Powers, Clear Channel Mobile Operations Manager.

"We're very excited and I think our fan base is very excited because the agreement extends our reach for football. We're covering a much wider region of the southeast," said Dr. Joel Erdmann, Athletics Director for the University of South Alabama.

Prefer to cheer on the Jags baseball and basketball teams? Clear Channel has you covered there as well.

"The football coverage will be on Lite Mix 99.9. Basketball, baseball, coaches shows will be on News Radio 710," said Powers.

Erdmann said the partnership and expanded reach adds value to the commercials the university sells to sponsors.

"In addition something we think is a very positive move is the ability to cross promote across numerous stations under Clear Channel which means we can market to males, females, children, families and get them engaged in South Alabama athletics," said Erdmann.

The contract includes options to extend the agreement after the initial three year period.

Before the switch, USA football, baseball and basketball called WNSP-FM sports radio home for several years.
