UPDATE: No Charges in Franklin St. Homicide

UPDATE 3PM: Mobile Police have questioned the man they were looking for in connection with an early morning homicide. Police say Antonio Turner has not been arrested. His case will be turned over to a Mobile County Grand Jury. Officials say Turner is claiming self-defense.


MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Mobile Police are investigating after a man was found dead early Friday morning.

It happened around 2:15 a.m. on Franklin Street.

Police were called out to a report of disorderly conduct. When they got there, they found 37-year-old John King, Jr. unresponsive. Mobile Fire-Rescue pronounced him dead on the scene.

Through an initial investigation, police determined King was involved in a physical altercation before he was found dead. Detectives say there was a second man on the scene but left before officers got there.

Officials are looking for 25-year-old Antonio Turner. They believe he may have information about the incident.
