MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Legislation providing tax credits to parents who send their children to private schools instead of failing public schools could be law within a few hours.
Gov. Robert Bentley says his legal staff will review the bill when he receives it from the Legislature on Thursday morning and he plans to sign it into law later in the day.
The Alabama Supreme Court on Wednesday struck down a lower court order that had kept the Legislature from sending the bill to the governor for his signature.
