(MOBILE, Ala.) One fire fighter is injured while fighting a fire at two houses Wednesday morning. The fire started around 1:30 am on Marine Street. Both homes were vacant. The first started on one house then spread to a second house.

One firefighter suffered a hip injury and was transported to the hospital. Fire officials say they are investigating these fires as arson.

"There have been a number of fires in the same general area and investigators are hoping someone can provide information that may be helpful in solving the cause of these fires," Mobile Fire-Rescue spokesman Steve Huffman said in a release.

A separate fire on Columbia Street destroyed a home around midnight. The cause of the fires are under investigation.
