(TOKYO) - Toyota is recalling 7.4 million vehicles across the world because of a malfunction in power window switches.
It's estimated that 2.5 million American cars are on that recall list. Including 2 of the most popular selling car models in the country: the Toyota Camry and the Toyota Corolla.
The Yaris, RAV4, Highlander, and Camry Hybrid are also on the list.
All of the impacted cars were made between 2005 and 2010.
This is the biggest single recall since Ford called back 7.9 million vehicles in 1996.
Toyota executives believe the problem is unevenly applied grease in the driver's side electric window control that can melt or catch fire.
No accidents, injuries, or deaths have been reported as a result of the window problem.
