NEW ORLEANS, La. (WPMI) Sunday's Super Bowl turned into a thriller, and the halftime show definitely didn't disappoint. Officials said Monday to not blame Beyonce for knocking out the lights.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the halftime show was absolutely not the cause of the power outage. Players and fans were in the dark for a half hour during the game.

Super Bowl Manager Doug Thornton said there was an interruption in the service into the Superdome that tripped a breaker which disconnected service. The cause of it all though is still unclear and under investigation.

"It was one of those unfortunate circumstances. What I will tell you is that our systems did work. Our protocol we put in for emergency power, the announcements we were able to make, all that was pre-scripted, we had rehearsed these kinds of situations before. We had drilled for it," Thornton said.
