(SPANISH FORT, Ala.) - The Eastern Shore's newest mayor will take office without having to go through the process of an election.
Mike McMillan ran unopposed in the race. He'll take office in November.
McMillan is no stranger to Spanish Fort though. He has served eight years on the city council.
He replaces Joe Bonner, who has been mayor of Spanish Fort since McMillan was elected to the council eight years ago.
