Senior Bowl players received a warm Mobile-style welcome and a little taste of Mardi Gras on Sunday.The NFL prospects, bedecked in Mardi Gras beads, were led by a brass band to the Battlehouse Hotel for a welcome party.
For some players, it's a homecoming.
"Being home, playing in front of my friends and family in my hometown means a lot to me," Alabama safety and three-time BCS champion Robert Lester said.
For some players, it's their first time in Alabama.
"I've actually never been to Alabama," North Carolina defensive tackle Sylvester Williams said. "College football has taken me a lot of places. Mobile is the last place it took me."
But it's not all fun and games for the seniors. They consider it a business trip.
"It's a job interview," Lester said.
A job interview for the NFL.
"You wanna come out here and do great and impress all the scouts," Williams said. "I'm real excited to play and dominate the top seniors in the country."
