ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WPMI) The Powerball jackpot is sky-rocketing once again. Right now the jackpot is at $320 million. The cash payout is a mere $198 million before taxes.
The drawing will be held Saturday and if no one wins it, the jackpot will jump once again. This weekend’s jackpot has been growing since February. "You don't need more than one. Your chances of one versus 20 are the same and you can’t win without buying at least one, " said Bucky Kahl who is visiting from Georgia.
A two dollar ticket is all it takes. Other folks in line at the Flora-Bama are buying much more. It's all about the lucky numbers. "I'm going to take care of a lot of things in our hometown in Georgia. There’s a lot of needs and I'm going to take care of some of those needs, " said Kahl.
For one group of ladies getting in on the more than $300 million jackpot, this is the perfect way to start off a week of vacation. "If we win we will share. I’ll share with her and her, okay I’ll share with all of you, but just a little bit," said Lori Mason.
Lines are expected to get longer Friday night, so is the jackpot which could go up to $360 million before Saturday's drawing at 10 p.m.
