Just before the Commodores take the stage at 11 p.m. New Years Eve, the mayor and Red Cross officials will issue an urgent plea to New Year's Eve revelers downtown to make a donation to the Red Cross to help storm victims.

Red Cross officials say more than 650 homes in Mobile County were impacted.
