(MOBILE, Ala.) Mobile Police are investigating after a Mobile man was shot and killed and another was wounded in a shooting Thursday night. It happened at around 10:30 Thursday at Dog River Park, formerly known as Luscher Park.
" It was like 5 shots and it paused. And after that, there was more shootings, and you could tell it wasn't a small gun," said one neighbor.
Residents said the shooting was startling, and shots began at 10:15 Thursday night.
One neighbor who lives right next to Dog River Park said, "I just maintained myself in my home trying to be safe. So this morning, they were coming around asking questions."
Mobile Police stated they are still investigating the shooting that claimed the life of one man and injured another.
"Last night at about 10:30, we received a call on Bream Drive in reference to one shot," said Corporal Christopher Levy.
He stated the victim called for help on Bream Drive after fleeing from the park. Official said they found the 22 year old victim with a gun shot wound in the mouth and a laceration on the back of his head. The second victim, Bernard Hall, was found at the park.
Levy stated, "While we were canvassing the area looking for the crime scene we actually located a second victim at Luscher Park."
Bernard Hall, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene. Mobile Police have not released the motive of the shooting, but the department stated the shooter or shooters were not strangers.
"We believe the suspects and the victims all knew each other," said Levy.
Neighbors told Local 15, they hope the recent shooting will prompt more patrol of the neighborhood park.
