JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WPMI) Jackson County Mississippi officials arrested a man for shooting and killing a horse.
He's charged with felony killing of an animal.
Investigators with the Jackson County Criminal Investigations Division arrested 37-year-old Jessie Paul Bergeron, Jr.
The charge stems from Bergeron shooting a horse in the Harleston community on March 7, 2013.
The horse later died from the gunshot wound.
Bergeron was released from the Jackson County Adult Detention Center with $2,500 bail.
He faces up to five years in prison a $10,000 fine, if convicted.
