PENSACOLA, Fla. (WPMI)  A suspect is behind bars after a standoff in Century, Florida Tuesday morning.

Escambia County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of North Century Boulevard and Alger Road to serve a warrant on 28-year-old Isaac Mitchell.

Mitchell retreated to his home in the 7800 block of Alger Road, where deputies tried to persuade him to surrender.

Mitchell had a long gun in his possession, which deputies repeatedly asked him to drop.

Mitchell jumped through a bedroom window and fled the residence with the gun.

As he fled, he discarded the weapon and ran to a convenience store on Century Boulevard.

Mitchell exited the store and turned himself in after several minutes of negotiation via phone.

He's charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, one count of resisting with violence and one count of improper exhibition of a firearm.
