(GULF SHORES, Ala.) A Gulf Shores, Alabama man was sentenced Thursday for an attempted bank robbery.

Justin Waller was sentenced to 137 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

Police say he fired a gun during an attempted robbery in May at the Hancock Bank. Police say Waller ran out of the bushes with a gun, confronting the tellers, then tried to use one of the tellers to get inside the bank. When he couldn't get inside, he fired a shot and ran off.

Waller later confessed.
