VANCLEAVE, Miss. (AP) - Jackson County school board members approved a $7,000 program that will provide an anonymous tip line for students to report bullying or threats at school.

The Talk About It program will be implemented in all the district's middle schools and at St. Martin High School on a trial basis.

The Mississippi Press reports the tip line was approved Monday.

Superintendent Barry Amacker said the tips can be sent by text and will go directly to administrators, who can handle matters quickly.

The system is set up to be anonymous, but administrators noted there are mechanisms in place to identify children who threaten suicide or who make threats against specific students.
