CENTRAL HEIGHTS, Ala. (AP) - Fire investigators in northern Alabama say a blaze that tore through a house and left three people dead may have started in the kitchen.

The state fire marshal is investigating the blaze and authorities say the victim's identities have not yet been released. Investigators say flames had fully consumed the house in Central Heights before firefighters arrived early Thursday morning and authorities found bodies in the kitchen, bathroom and in a rear room near the back door.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Richard Richey tells the TimesDaily of Florence fire appears to have been accidental.
