OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WPMI) Officials in Okaloosa County have closed several roads due to flooding.

Denton Boulevard, north and south of Racetrack Road in Fort Walton Beach, is closed for approximately four weeks while a utility bore is constructed beneath Racetrack Road. Racetrack Road WILL NOT be impacted.

Both locations are anticipated to be open March 1, 2013.

Detours are as follows:

On Southside of Denton, northbound traffic on Denton (south of Racetrack), will be detoured at Bob Sikes Road to multiple streets that also meet Racetrack. Local access will be available up to the closure for all addresses south of Racetrack Road, but no through traffic will be permitted.

Traffic from the north will be detoured down Verb Street to McFarlan Avenue, back to Racetrack Road.

The following roads have been closed due to flooding:

Ellis Road in Milligan has been closed just west of the entrance to Milligan Yellow River Park/Boat Ramp, due to water over the roadway.

Horse Creek Road in Escambia Farms has been closed at Big Horse Creek, just west of Rockhill Road, due to water over the roadway.

Roads will be monitored and reopened once the water subsides.

All rivers and waterways continue to be monitored and more closures due to flooding may occur.
