(MOBILE, Ala.) - It's another big week in Mobile as this year’s crop of college senior football stand-outs prepare to take the field in Saturday's Senior Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

The South team practiced Monday in Fairhope, the North team went through their paces at Ladd-Peebles.

Coming up Friday night, some veteran players will gather off the field for an event that means the world to one local father.

Six years ago, Donnie Warren was with his daughter, Amber, as she celebrated her 14th birthday.

Two days later, Amber died, her life taken by a shot from a bb gun, from a neighbor’s air rifle.

Some people deal with exceptional grief in exceptional ways. Donnie Warren is one of those people.

"We wanted to do something for the community and let her legacy live on,” says Warren.

This year, for the fourth time, Donnie will gather together past stars from Alabama and Auburn, and other athletes with a will to help their fellow man, and host “Autographs for Amber.”

You donate money and the athletes sign balls. Money raised benefits Mobile's Youth Advocacy Program, and the Alabama Organ Donor Center. And there's a very good reason for that.

"Amber was actually an organ donor and one of their recipients is going to be there this year," says Warren.

The going has been tough for Donnie and his family. But they keep going, honoring Amber along the way, because that's what winners do.

You’re invited to “Autographs for Amber” Friday night at 7 p.m. under the FedEx tent at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
