(BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala.) More than two dozen restaurants in Fairhope and Daphne are pitching in to help the families of two Baldwin County Sheriff's deputies shot in the line of duty.

On Thursday Dec. 13, the restaurants will be donating 10% of their proceeds to the families of Deputy Scott Ward, who was killed, and Deputy Curtis Summerlin. The deputies were shot two weeks ago responding to a disturbance call in the Fairhope area.

"You might not know them personally, but it hits everybody in the heart," said Tamara Wintzell, owner of Tamara's Downtown. "I can't even begin to describe what these families are probably feeling right now. A great support system is the way to get through this, especially during the holidays. I hope we can help them."

Participating restaurants include:

Ruby Tuesday
Tamara's Downtown (and the owner's other restaurants)
