(MOBILE, Ala.) New problems are emerging Monday for a possible merger between EADS and BAE to create the world's largest aerospace company.
NVESCO Perpetual, BAE's largest shareholder, has issued a list of objections to a proposed $45,000,000,000 merger Monday, including concerns of state interference, a lack of strategic rationale and poor terms.
The shareholder says the deal would have a negative impact on the BAE'S firm position in the United States where it has unique access as a foreign firm to do sensitive defense work. The letter comes two days ahead of a UK stock market imposed deadline for the two companies to set out a more detailed blueprint for the merger.
EADS is the parent company of Airbus. Airbus of course, is set to build a $600,000,000 assembly plant in Mobile and bring 1000 jobs to the Brookley Aeroplex.
