OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WPMI) Police say a 2-year-old girl injured in a four-vehicle accident in Ocean Springs on Wednesday has died.

Capt. William Jackson says Josalyn Anderson died Thursday at University of South Alabama Children's and Women's Hospital in Mobile.

The Sun Herald reports no one else was injured in the accident.

Jackson says 27-year-old Melanie Rachel Anderson, of Biloxi, had left the Ocean Springs Civic Center on U.S. 90 and was headed east to get something to eat.

He says she'd gone less than half a mile when she turned to say something to her daughter, who was unrestrained and standing on the back seat.

Jackson says Anderson hit the vehicle in front of her, which caused a chain reaction involving four vehicles.

The accident remains under investigation.
