(TOULOUSE, France) Airbus exceeded its order target for 2012. The company won 914 orders for the year, shattering the target of 650.
It now has a seven-year backlog of more than 4,000 aircraft valued at over $600 billion dollars. The results also mark the 11th consecutive year Airbus has increased production.
Airbus unveiled plans to construct a $600 million dollar assembly plant at Mobile's Brookley Aeroplex in July.
The facility is expected to deliver its first planes in 2016.
