(LOXLEY, Ala.) -  A Loxley woman has been arrested and charged for her husband's death.

Deputies say Britnea Myers intentionally stabbed her husband Tim, earlier this month.
Tonight, Britnea Myers is charged with murder.

LOCAL 15 News spoke with Tim's father who says he's grateful the truth about his son has come to light.

"Tim over came a lot of challenges in his life to earn the right to become a U.S. Soldier. And he was very proud of his service with the 1165th military police company out of Fairhope," says Craig Myers.

That call to service, Craig  says, came at early age for his son Tim, who served abroad in Iraq and closer to home in Tuscaloosa when that deadly tornado hit in April.

"That was the greatest accomplishment of his life."

But that part of Tim's life was overshadowed earlier this month, when investigators say his wife Britnea stabbed him to death. At the time, she told investigators it was in self-defense.

"We as his family were confident that there was much more to this story than what came out."

Indeed there was much more to the story and today Britnea was booked for murder.

"Based upon her own statements and based upon the wounds on the body and based upon other forensics evidence we gathered at the scene, it lead us to believe that she intentionally caused the death," explained Capt. Steve Arthur of the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office

But this turn of events may have come one week too late for Tim's family. Last Thursday and without Tim's family input, Britnea buried her husband.

"We just felt like the proper thing to do would be for us to bury our son, under the circumstance." Too upset to attend what Britnea arranged, Craig Myers says he made his own arrangements and held a memorial this weekend so Tim's family could remember their proud soldier.
