Mobile, AL - Pensacola, FL – UTV44, WJTC is gearing up for its 7th season of the UTV44 High School Football Game of the Week brought to you in part by Whataburger. 100% locally produced and televised, the Game of the Week can be seen live on UTV44 every Friday night beginning August 31st at 7pm, with a full replay of the game on Saturdays at 7pm. Jim Cox, Dan Brennan, and Vick Lockett return as the voices of high school football with LOCAL 15’s Pat Greenwood on the sidelines.
This year’s schedule will highlight some of the top recruits in the state of Alabama, including Jason Smith of McGill-Toolen and D.J. Johnson of Spanish Fort. McGill-Toolen, the defending 6A Region 2 champions, is now back in 6A Region 1. Can the Yellow Jackets win two straight region championships in different regions, or will defending Region 1 Champ Blount make it two straight championships. In Region 2, will newcomers Enterprise, Dothan or Northview overcome Fairhope, Foley or Daphne for the top spot? The Vigor Wolves look
to make another trip to the Super Six, but Spanish Fort and St. Paul’s look to make a trip of their own.
The UTV44 High School Football Game of the Week schedule will consist of ten (10) weeks of regular season games and four (4) possible tape delayed playoff games. The Game of the Week will once again follow a Flex schedule for 2012; games for week 1 through week 4 are chosen and will be covered according to the posted schedule. The flex schedule will be implemented for week 5 through week 10 and are subject to change from the games listed on the schedule. Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups on Friday night in those
weeks. This will allow winning teams to play their way onto the UTV44 Game of the Week schedule and prime time television. Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games on Thursday or Saturday nights. The Game of the Week schedule covers schools from Mobile
County & Baldwin County.
