(BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala.) The three teens accused of burglarizing fish camps on Gravine Island back in April are now charged with murder.

The Grand Jury indictments for Scott Byrd, Dillon Tyree and Daniel Parnell were handed down Wednesday.

The District Attorney says the Grand Jury found the teens were responsible for Moody's death because of their actions. The Grand Jury found the three put Moody in a situation where she could be killed.

The teens were accused of breaking into fish camps on Gravine Island. Moody, 17, was shot during the incident. Three campers on the island heard the commotion and opened fire. Moody was hit in the back of the head. She later died at the hospital. The campers on the island say they fired the shot as a warning, to scare off the burglars.

"The family is upset and has been upset since day one," Robert Stankoski, the Moody Family attorney said. "They blame the shooters in this matter. And each side needs to appropriately be punished. And it doesn't seem to be happening in the matter. But in my opinion, when the District Attorney has already gone on and given a press conference and said it's a horrible tragic accident, if it's an accident, how can you charge juveniles with a murder charge? It doesn't make any sense."

The DA says she will meet with Moody's attorney soon to discuss why they decided to move forward with this case, in this manner.

“But for the actions of these three young men, who were engaging in armed burglaries and who acted aggressively when caught, Summer Moody would be with us today,” said District Attorney Hallie Dixon.

Byrd, Tyree and Parnell are all in jail. Bond has been set at $250,000 each for the murder charge. The trio will make their first court appearance Friday morning.
