MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) - Some good news from a much loved Mobile Mardi Gras icon. The Dancin’ Machine will walk the parade route this year after all.
In the past, Clifford Thomas has bounced back from prostate cancer and even a heart attack on the operating table.
This year it looked like back problems would sideline him from his annual participation in carnival.
But Thursday Thomas told us he's just gotten the go ahead from his doctor and the party is on.
When asked why he keeps doing this, he said "I love it. Just love it. My heart, you know, just love the people and for years and, you gotta understand the electricity. You know, you feel when you look at that crowd and their face and they got so much love to show. They wanna touch and regardless of what, we all in this world, we all need love.”
So look for the Dancin' Machine Friday night at the head of the Conde Cavalier parade and we hear he's going to be sporting a new look Friday night!
