(BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala.) - Former Mobile County Commissioner Steve Nodine is expected to  reach a plea deal with the state for the murder charge against him.

LOCAL 15's Andrea Ramey reports the state offered him the deal. If Nodine pleads guilty to a misdemeanor charge and the felony perjury charge, he would serve 11 months in community corrections and check in on nights and weekends. Nodine, his attorneys, and prosecutors are in the courtroom at this hour.

Nodine is accused of killing his girlfriend Angel Downs in Gulf Shores back in 2010. His first trial ended with a hung jury. A second trial for murder was supposed to start Monday in Houston County.
