(BAY MINETTE, Ala.)  How would you like to go to a Christmas parade and have people on the floats tell you you're going to hell for believing in Santa? That's what happened to folks in Crestview, Florida last weekend. Now, the same group that caused the uproar hoped to ride in Bay Minette's Christmas parade this weekend , but its application has been denied. .

The group is called Save Me from the Fire. It applied to be in the parade this Saturday. The North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is in charge of who rolls in the parade. It says it thought the out of state application was odd but wasn't aware of the extreme nature of group until the Crestview incident.

Parents who were there at the parade say what the group was yelling was very upsetting.

"Sorry kids, parents are lying to you. Santa Claus isn't real. You're going to hell. Everything you've been told about the lovey, dovey you know, Jesus loves you for who you are, that was all a lie. That we were all sinners. We were all adulterers, and we were all going to hell," said Casey Denmon.

The chamber declined to go on camera but released a statement saying in part, "It is our practice to contact all interested parties who have not paid their fee, or have indicated via their application that they're not adhering to the theme, to inform them that their parade application has not been accepted."

Despite being denied, the Save Me from the Fire group says it will be preaching on the street this Saturday in Bay Minette. The parade starts at noon.
