(OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss.) A Biloxi woman wanted in a felony hit-and-run case involving a pedestrian turned herself in to Ocean Spring police Wednesday morning.

Police Capt. William Jackson tells The Sun Herald Lisa B. Sanchez was first arrested Sunday on a misdemeanor DUI charge. Police said she was driving a white SUV when she hit a woman early Sunday morning.

Police said they upgraded a misdemeanor hit-and-run charge against her to a felony after she was released on the DUI charge, because of the extent of the pedestrian's injuries.

The victim was taken to Ocean Springs Hospital. Police said she suffered a fractured spine, skull and cheekbone and injuries to her wrist and knees. Sanchez has since been released from jail

It was unclear whether Sanchez has an attorney.
