(MOBILE, ALA.) - The family of a Mobile man found murdered in Grand Bay is speaking out and asking for privacy.

Justin Hasty's cousin, Mike Johnston, addressed the media today on behalf of the Hasty family.

"We would like to thank the Mobile Police Department for the professional and swift manner in which they conducted Justin's case,"  Johnston said Wednesday morning.

Brandon Estle is in custody charged for Hasty's murder. Last night, while he was being transported to Metro Jail, Estle said that he and Hasty were good friends.

"Justin will be greatly missed by his many friends and family," Johnston said. "We want to thank the community for their continued support, and your thoughts and prayers are appreciated as we deal with the loss of our son and our brother."

Authorities believe Hasty was killed at his midtown home and was taken to a rural home in Grand Bay. Investigators say they found Hasty's body in a toolbox.

Local 15 is continuing to investigate. We'll bring you the very latest on this developing story tonight at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
