Tonight’s UTV 44 High School Game of the Week presented by
Subway showcased 6A Region 2 rivals, Fairhope Pirates vs. Foley Lions
Fairhope is looking to stay atop the Region 2 standings with
McGill-Toolen and Daphne while Foley in the playoff hunt already having region
losses to both McGill and Daphne.
Fairhope’s offense ranks best among 6A schools in Alabama
and they wasted no time against Foley.
Fairhope’s Chase Domino put Fairhope up 14-7 before throwing an
interception to Foley’s D’Marsjae Casey which was returned 60 yards for a
touchdown. Foley had tied up the game
14-14.
Fairhope’s offense continued to move the ball on Foley in
the first half. With 341 total yards in
the first half alone, Fairhope was able to score two more touchdowns and a
field goal to take a 31-14 lead into halftime.
Second half saw Foley and the Adams’ brothers mount a
comeback against the Pirates. Alontai
Adams blocked his second put for the night for a touchdown, but it was not
enough as the Priates was able to slow Foley down enough for the 45-34 victory.
Fairhope improves to 6-1(4-1) and host Daphne 7-0(5-0) on
Thursday
Foley drops to 4-3(2-3) and will travel to Ladd Pebbles
Stadium to take on the Williamson Lions 2-5(2-3).
