HURLEY, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Highway Patrol says a 4-year-old Louisiana boy injured in a head-on collision Wednesday night on Mississippi 614 has died.

Highway Patrol Master Sgt. Johnny Poulos identified the child as Darren Gaspard Jr. of Starks, La. Poulos says the child died Thursday at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile.

Poulos says the boy was ejected from the pickup in which he was riding when it and a car collided about 9:15 p.m.

Three others in the truck were taken to Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula.

The driver of the car and a passenger were taken to Ocean Springs Hospital.

Poulos says all those injured were in serious condition.

The accident remains under investigation.
