The UTV44 High School Game of the Week presented by Whataburger heads into the 2nd Round of the AHSAA football playoffs.
Auburn is the #2 seed from Region 3, their offense is lead by senior quarter back Cameron Echols-Luper who is committed to Texas
A&M. They average 39.2 points per game. The Tiger’s defense lead by senior Ruben Foster, is only giving up 17.1 points per game.
The McGill-Toolen Yellow Jackets, lead by second year coach Bart Sessions are hoping to advance further into the playoffs. His senior quarterback Jason Smith will have to continue his high level of play that has helped the Yellow Jackets average
44 points per game. McGill’s defense is only giving up an average of 16.5 points per game.
These two teams have only met on the field twice with McGill winning both of those. The last meeting was in 2006 and McGill won 27-7. Winner advances on to the quarter final round to face the winner of Daphne vs. Opelika.
Due to AHSAA regulations, this game will be a tape delayed broadcast. The game will air on UTV44 on Saturday
November 17th at 7pm.
