Tonight’s UTV 44 High School Game of the Week presented by
Subway showcased the Battle of Old Shell Road between St. Paul’s Saints vs.
UMS-Wright Bulldogs

Both teams having already secured a spot in the playoff looked to end the regular season on a winning note.

St. Paul’s got on the board in the first quarter when quarterback Will Brabston hooked up with Ryan Myles for a 38 yard touchdown
reception.  St. Paul’s was ahead 7-0.

On their next possession, 8th grade running back Ostin McPherson took off down field for a 33 yard run which set up a 34 yard touchdown
run by Brabston.  St. Paul’s was now up 14-0 in the 1st quarter.

In the second quarter McPherson found the end zone for his first touchdown of the night on a five yard run.  That touchdown capped a six play 80 yard drive to put St. Paul’s up 21-0.

St. Paul’s didn’t ease up on the Bulldogs.  With less than three minutes to go in the
half, McPherson got into the end zone again on a three yard run.  St. Paul’s missed the extra point but was now
up 27-0.

Not to be shut out in the half, the Bulldogs took the ball
down field with less than a minute to end the 1st half.  Quarterback Gunner Roach found receiver Jawon
McDowell for a 38 yard reception.  That helped lead the way as Roach got into the end zone to finally get the Bulldogs
on the board.  With the missed extra point, UMS was now down 27-6 at the half.

St. Paul’s McPherson was able to get into the end zone one more time in the third quarter.  St. Paul’s
had a six play 45 yard drive to extend their lead over the Bulldogs 33-6.  McPherson ended the night 26 carries for 212
yards and 3 touchdowns.

St. Paul’s tacked on a field goal late in the 4th quarter to finish off UMS 36-6.

St. Paul’s finish the season 9-1(6-0) and will host Woodlawn for the 1st round of the state playoffs.

UMS-Wright finishes the season 6-4(5-2) and will travel to Green County for their 1st round game of the state playoffs.
