It’s the final UTV44 High School Game of the Week presented by Whataburger as we are in the semifinal round of the AHSAA football playoffs with a rematch of St. Paul’s Saints vs. Spanish Fort Toros.

St. Paul’s won the week 6 regular season matchup 31-21.  The winner of this game will go to Jordan-Hare Stadium to play in the Class 5A State Championship game.

The St. Paul’s Saints are led by quarterback Bradley Padgett and running back Jordan Huff.  The Saint’s offense averages 32.8 points per game, while the defense is only giving up a stingy 10.5 points per game.  Their defense is led by linebackers Tre Williams and Jeb Boudreaux.  The Saint’s have a 2-1 record in the semifinal round of the playoffs.

Mark Freeman, in just his second year at Spanish Fort, will put the ball in quarterback Joel Poe’s hands.  His offense is averaging 40.7 points per game.  Nebraska commit Johnny Cook will lead the defense that is only giving up 16.8 points per game.  The Toros are 1-1 in semifinal games.

It’s a 5A Region 1 rematch with the winner taking it all and heading to Auburn.

Due to AHSAA regulations, this game will be tape delayed.  The game will air on UTV44 on Saturday December 1st at 7pm.
