#5 St. Paul’s Saints (4-1; 3-0) vs. #3 Spanish Fort Toros (5-0; 3-0)
The UTV44 High School Game of the Week presented by Whataburger heads to “The Hill” for 5A Region 1 clash between the St. Paul’s Saints and the Spanish Fort Toros.
Both teams are coming off Week #5 non-region wins; St. Paul’s hosted Choctaw County for their homecoiming and came out with a 42-8 win. Spanish Fort hosted Fairhope at “The Hill” and won 31-21 over the Pirates.
St. Paul’s is lead by senior running back Jordan Huff who is returning this season after a knee injury sidelined him last year. He has over 400 yards rushing and five touchdowns this season. The Saints offense is averaging 30.6 points per game, and they are facing a Spanish Fort defense that gives up 17.2 points per game.
Spanish Fort is lead by veteran quarterback Joel Poe. The Toros offense averages 41 points per game which is ranked 28th overall in the state. This will be a true test for them as the St. Paul’s defense only gives up an average of 7.4 points per game which is ranked 14th overall in the state.
The Toros are looking to redeem themselves this year against St. Paul’s after the Saints won 30-0 and went on to win the 5A Region 1 championship.
