The storm system that brought our area 1-2 inches of rainfall on Friday night is gone, now much colder air is settling into our area in the wake of that system.
The highest temperature today was right after midnight (upper 50s). This afternoon, temps will actually struggle to reach the low 50s, but thankfully the cloudy skies will give way to some sunshine before the sun sets.
Tonight will be very cold as the winds relax & the cold air settles. Under a mainly clear sky, temps will drop into the mid 20s-lower 30s across the area tonight thru Sunday morning. Because of this, a FREEZE WARNING is in place for our entire area.
Temps remain cool for Sunday, but temps begin to rebound for New Year's eve...as 60s return. However, cloud cover will increase by New Year's Eve night & an isolated shower or two isn't ruled out as midnight approaches. The best chance for rain doesn't come until New Year's Day...as it looks cloudy & wet for the start of the new year.
Keep an umbrella handy tonight,
